Tides of Logic
I thought i'd post up an instrumental version of 'Tides of Logic'. I really like the existing version with vocals and I think the song stands up ok as an instrumental too, with the guitars more prominent.
The obvious influence here is Pink Floyd, and especially David Gilmour's guitar playing. I practically wore out my copies of Dark Side of the Moon , Wish You Were Here, and others albums back in the day, and I guess with this song it shows.
Mr Gilmour has a house less than half a mile from my current home, but i've never seen him down at the local coop! I wonder whether he would like the song.
My first guitar (see the song her called 'Cheap guitar blues'), my father bought me when I was 13. It was an Avon SG copy. My dad was a pub landlord, and a customer sold it to him and the seller apparently said it once belonged to a member of Pink Floyd! While this was likely not true, it is sort of interesting, as a back story! Unfortunately I lost the guitar during one of my house moves. I don't know what became of it, and would love to still have it, but it wasn't to be.
I hope to take this song to the 'Strummers' guitar group I am a member of to see if it could become part of the group's repertoire. It would be great to hear it performed by a group of musicians.
