'Ridin on the 7' is a blues based song written by Marcus Kingston, and performed by Marcus and the guitar and vocal ensemble New Note Strummers, for the CD 'Shabby Road'. The CD was recorded live at Brighton Electric studios, engineered by Phoebe of Brighton Electric and produced by the Strummers' tutor Jon Rattenbury who worked with Phoebe curating and mixing the parts for the songs on the CD.
The song revolves on the sights and sounds of Brighton from the perspective of someone taking the number 7 bus, which wends it's way through Hove to Brighton. The song is upbeat and humourous, and features excellent vocal performances by Marcus on lead vocals and Hannah Raftery and Deli  on backing vocals. The singers are backed up by Matt on bass guitar groove, Pete Campbell on drums, Roger on blues harmonica, and Shaun (me, who played the guitar solo mid song), Steve Cooke, Crispin Gair, and Luke Holding on guitars.
To that little piece of heaven
that takes away
All our worries
And all our little cares

I "remastered" the mp3 presented here, adding some echo effects which enhance Marcus's vocals, and introducing some additional dynamics by making the choruses a bit louder than the verses, and emphasising the harmony vocals with a little extra volume. The song was also eq'd differently to the CD original.
Hope you enjoy the song and be sure to check out the classic blues ending - it's great!!Â
All the best!

Ridin’ on the Seven Lyrics by Marcus Kingston
Intro
We’re ridin’ on the seven, it’s gonna take us there
We’re ridin’ on the seven, it’s gonna take us there
To that little piece of heaven, that takes away our cares
Verse 1
Well, We’re starin’ out the window, seein’ all the sights
Where we gonna stop today, it’s gonna be alright
We’re ridin’ on the seven, it’s gonna take us there
To that little piece of heaven, that takes away our cares
Verse 2
Coffee in the Steine, picnic in the parkÂ
Grateful for the 7, it’s running when it’s dark
We’re ridin’ on the seven, it’s gonna take us there
To that little piece of heaven, that takes away our cares
Bridge
Marina, Royal Sussex, Palace Pier, Old Steine
Brighton Station, Seven Dials, all the cheeky scenes
We’re ridin’ on the seven, it’s gonna take us there
To that little piece of heaven, that takes away our cares
Verse 3
Look at all the cyclists, bikers, mods and prideÂ
Looking great in all the gear, raise a million smiles
We’re ridin’ on the seven, it’s gonna take us there
To that little piece of heaven, that takes away our cares
Guitar Solo
