In a Memory
... is a song about reflections on the past featuring the most excellent Alice Minguez on vocals.
Of all the collaborations I have been involved with, this is the one my mother enjoys the most! It is a favourite of mine too.
I chose the spiral image (from Pexels.com) to represent the song, mostly because the repeating sections, and especially the beginning and end sections, which to me feel like musical spirals. I was influenced by the Beatles when writing the music for the song.
I sometimes
Live a memory
In my dreams
There was destiny"
Dennis King (West Hills, CA, USA) wrote the poignant lyrics.
Nick Anderson (Modbury, UK) laid down a really solid drum performance.
Alice's vocals (Alice Minguez, Wisconsin, USA), are really something. What a great singer!
I did the backing music, guitars, bass, keys & mixing.
In a Memory lyrics by Dennis King
Prelude
I just thought to say hello
To an old life
I used to know
But that was in the past
Verse 1
Going down this road
I’ve been here before
Familiar and old
It’s a memory of the past
In my mind
I relive the moments
As the years unwind
I say hello
To the past
The days of old
Go by so fast
Bridge 1
I sometimes
Live a memory
In my dreams
There was destiny
A person a place
That I have seen
Stays with me
In my memories
Chorus 1
My past life
Where I come running
In my dreams
I come running
In my mind
I come running home to you
Repeat verse 1, bridge 1 and chorus 1 a second time
