Cheap Guitar Blues

This is a 12 bar blues for which we relied upon a midi drums instrument and midi drum parts.

The music is influenced by a bunch of old-time electric blues and jazz-blues influences - the blues chord sequence was popularised in the early sixties by Bill Doggett's 'Honky Tonk', but is likely quite a bit older. Clarence Gatemouth-Brown among others also uses this sequence.

I played the music in F to get away from the usual guitar keys, for a change.

The organ parts were recorded after listening to Jimmy McGriff and Jimmy Smith, but my keyboard skills are not good. It is what it is!

The bass uses walking lines that are ingrained in my mind from listening to blues over the years.

The guitars were recorded with an amp sim and my old Line 6 Variax.
